Summer News

In the IT department, we are excited about the network changes we have done over the course of the Summer. 

We have replaced all of the high school lab machines.  Our primary stationary lab now has high-end workstations (Core 2 duo processors, 2GB RAM, 128 NVidia video cards) with 19" LCD monitors ready for audio/video editing and production, graphics and web design.  Our secondary lab will no longer be a dedicated lab but will still serve the needs of yearbook and photojournalism thus it also received 15 high-end machines. 

Our second lab will now be a mobile lab with 30 new laptops on a cart, self-contained with a printer and router for wireless network access.  This will be utilized in any classroom for any subject. 

In addition, we have replaced many of the key hardware components of the network at both campuses in an effort to increase its speed and efficiency.  This includes four new servers, five new gigabit switches and an upgrade to fiber optic network access for both campuses.

We have also changed our administrative software which includes an upgraded parent module allowing parents easier access to student grades and assignments.

Finally, we are eager at the arrival of Beyond Technology onto our campus, a company that is dedicated to taking technology out of the lab and putting it into the classroom so that IT tools are used in all subjects to improve the learning process.

All of these improvements were done to keep our focus of increasing our technological capabilities and better integrating technology into the classroom.  We see technology not as an ends unto itself but as a means to enhance the eduactional process and assist the mission of this school, to grow Christian leaders.
