Purpose of the Boosters Club

Ontario Christian Athletic Boosters Club works hard to support our coaches and athletic director in creating a positive Christian environment for our student athletes and sports programs.

• We are parents of athletes, alumni of OC, or supporters of OC. We care about OC athletics. We try to present a positive influence to our students and to our community of which we are a part.
• We do our best to improve the athletic facilites at OC. We also feel our role is to give our coaches support and the best game facilites as possible. We also try to give coaches some help with practice equipment.
• Our goal as a club is not to maintain status quo, but to strive to continually improve our athletic programs at OC, whild keeping Jesus Christ at the center of everything we do.

From The President

I Corinthians 9:24 & 25: "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get the crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

As a Christian school based on Reformed teaching, it is important that we place athletics in its proper perspective. In the teenage years sports is a great place for young people to put their energy. They learn and compete with fellow Christians, they make friends, and they work together as a team and build up their bodies. They also begin a season with one common goal, to win a championship. I Corinthians 9: 24 & 25 talks about a race, how all of us as Christians can compete and strive for the prize. Train to your best ability so you can win the prize. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says , "Whatever your hands find to do, do it all with your might." However, we are also reminded in the Bible that if you win earthly races, it will soon be forgotten, it will not last.

As student athletes, parents, alumni, we must all keep in perspective that athletics at OC is fun, entertaining, and great for our children, but it will be short lived. The ultimate goal that all of must remember is that we are striving for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and that the race we are running as Christians is to attain the crown that will last forever. When our lives are over we know we will go to heaven and be with Jesus Christ for eternity

As a Boosters Club we are very thankful for our coaches and athletic director. We urge everyone to support them and back them up as best we can. Coaches can be a tremendous influence on our children.

Finally, we need more parents to be involved, as well as alumni and friends of OC, in our Boosters Club. We have a lot of fun doing things to improve our facilities. We meet the 4th Monday of every month at 7:00 PM in the high school library. Remember the more help and support we get, the more we can do to help and improve our athletic program.
