Elementary Visual Art

Kindergarten art is taught by Mrs. Munive.
First through sixth grade art classes are taught by Miss Meendering.

At the beginning of the year, students in grades K through 6 work on projects to be used as decorations at the annual Harvest Festival, which will be held at the high school campus on Friday afternoon, October 28.

Students in grades 1, 3, 5, and 7 will work on projects that are transferred to fabric and made into quilts that will be sold at the spring auction.

Students work on holiday and seasonal projects throughout the year as well as projects that emphasize, develop, and practice various art skills and techniques.

Pictures will be posted as they become available! Keep checking back, please!

Third grade students paint clown faces for their Harvest Festival project. In a two part process, they designed the outline of the clown and painted it with white base paint on black paper. During the second art lesson, colorful paint was added to create the details of the clowns' faces and costumes.

For the fourth grade Harvest Festival Project, students use strips of paper to create patterns to decorate the shirts of their paper scarecrows.

For the Harvest Festival, sixth graders create a project based on a cow and a milk bottle. These depict all kinds of experiences for the cows. A cow might be trapped in the bottle, holding the bottle, escaping from the bottle, or whatever the imagination of a sixth grader conjures up for the bovine.
