7th Grade students come to art class for the first semester of the school year.
7th grade students study the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages. For their first project, they create a portfolio to hold their work for the semester. The cover is decorated with a Bible verse meaningful to the student and uses components common in an illuminated page.
7th grade students also create art work that is transferred to fabric which is made into a quilt that is auctioned in the spring auction.
8th grade students come to art class for the second semester of the school year.
8th grade students study graphic design. For their first project, they create a portfolio to hold their work for the semester. The students develop an imaginary "business" and design a logo for it. The cover of their portfolio becomes an advertisement for their business.
