STUDENT CATEGORIES
The descriptions give the basic services and privileges included undereach category. Some opportunities may require additional fees.
ASSOCIATE STUDENTS:
This category applies to students who are enrolled primarily in home education or OCOnline. These students may take all courses off-campus, or may take up to two courses on campus.
A Privileges and Conditions
1 Students are recognized as attending Ontario Christian School.
2 Students are eligible to receive a student ID card, attend athletic events and other events at the student rate, and have a student picture included in the school yearbook.
3 All PSP students are invited to attend school chapel and assemblies.
4 All PSP students may participate in after school clubs and programs, such as Chess Club, Kiwanis Key Club, International club, and Mock Trial. PSP students may participate in Ontario Christian School service projects.
5 PSP students may participate in most school social events, although limitations may apply for some events, such as enrollment in at least one on-campus course.
6 PSP families may make arrangements to use the school library and the high school career center.
7 Students may join many all-school field trips and presentations. However, some field trips may require enrollment in a specific course, whether taken on-campus or at home, or specific preparation. The administration may require completion of specific goals, components, or process. Some activities may be restricted due to space available or require additional fees.
8 The student taking on-campus classes are eligible to ride the Ontario Christian bus to and from school.
9 At the high school level, the PSP Director will help the family develop a four-year plan that leads toward completing graduation requirements.
10 Those completing all requirements for graduation are invited to participate in graduation ceremonies.
B Qualifications and Restrictions
1 Families are not eligible for tuition assistance.
2 Students are not eligible to qualify for class rank, valedictorian, salutatorian, or school scholarships.
3. PSP students are not eligible for Calif. Scholarship Federation membership
4 These students are not eligible to participate in athletics, drama productions, serve on Associated Student Body, or attend the middle or high school retreat and class trips.
PARTNER STUDENT:
This category applies to students who take or are enrolled in PSP, OCOnline, or
other Ontario Christian School approved educational options, and take three or
four courses on campus.
A Privileges and Conditions in addition to those conferred on the Associate student.
1 Students may participate in middle and high school extracurricular activities including athletics and Associated Student Body (ASB). Drama at the middle school level is a course; participation in drama productions as an extracurricular activity is available at the high school level.
2 Students will have a picture included in school annual and will receive a yearbook if this is in accord with the practice with full-time students.
3 Students taking one to four on-campus classes may participate in all of the activities associated with that course, including field trips and presentations.
4 Families may apply for tuition assistance.
B Qualifications and Restrictions:
1 Students are not eligible to qualify for class rank, valedictorian, salutatorian, or school scholarships.
2 At the high school level, California Scholarship Federation membership is available if the student earns sufficient CSF points from on campus courses. National Honor Society and Renaissance Program membership is available for qualifying students.
FULL-TIME STUDENTS:
This category applies to students who take five to seven on-campus classes, although home education (PSP), OCOnline, and off-campus colleges and/or Regional Occupational Program (ROP) options are available.
Privileges and Conditions in addition to those conferred on the Associate and Partner student.
1 Students may participate in middle and high school extracurricular activities including athletics, Associated Study Body (ASB), class officer, participation in school sponsored social events, receive a student ID card, and have picture included in school annual and will receive an yearbook if this is in accord with the school practices.
2 Students who attend OC as full-time on-campus students for both junior and senior year are eligible to qualify for class rank, valedictorian, salutatorian, and school scholarships.
3 At the high school level, California Scholarship Federation membership is available if the student earns sufficient CSF points from on campus courses. National Honor Society and Renaissance Program membership is available for qualifying students
