In 2003, I graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Physical Education and a K-12 teaching certificate. I have also completed credits at Fuller Theological Seminary toward a Master’s degree in Christian Leadership. I taught at Unity Christian High School in Hudsonville, MI from 2003-2006. I started teaching at Ontario Christian in 2006.
My wife, Betsy, and I married in 2004. Our first son, Jack, was born in March of 2009. Our second son, Arie, was born in April of 2011. Our little girl, Elleen was born in June of 2014. As a family, we enjoy playing with our kids, exercising, camping, and traveling to see our relatives in Michigan. Personally, I love watching and playing sports, reading, and doing projects around our house.
I am convinced that every person is created in the image of God and that the Bible is God’s infallible word. I am also conviced that God communicates mostly clearly through his word and so it is the foundation of a Christian’s life. One of my favorite verses is John 3:30: “He must become more important; I must become less important.”
