The Ontario Christian High School Fine Arts Department provides a God-centered approach to teaching visual and performing arts. A popular saying regarding art is that the artist & the viewer must keep an open mind. Our Fine Arts Department stresses the importance of keeping a discerning mind.
The majority of the art world is filled with ideologies antithetical to the Christian life. At Ontario Christian, we have a unique opportunity to redeem part of the art culture and direct the work of our hands to the glory of our Creator with our given talents.
Education in fine arts at Ontario Christian High School has various forms, including band, choir, art design, drawing and painting, ceramics, photography, graphic design, and art history. These classes are designed to give students a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the fine arts and prepare them for a fine arts requirement at a four-year college.
These classes meet all California Visual and Performing Arts Standards. More importantly, these classes are centered on the core Christian principles taught throughout all education areas at Ontario Christian Schools.
“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!.” Psalm 90:17 (ESV)
