After graduating from Calvin College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and minors in Language Arts and Social Studies, I received a teaching credential from the state of Michigan. I am approved to teach grades K-5 (all subjects) and K-8 (self-contained classrooms), as well as language arts and social studies in grades 6-8. In 2004, I accepted a sixth-grade teaching position at Ontario Christian School and I have been here ever since! In 2007, I completed my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University, Fullerton. I look forward to spending another year with our wonderful staff, faculty, and families at Ontario Christian School!
My husband and I have been married since 2010, and in December of 2013 we were blessed with a baby girl. We have attended Calvary Chapel Chino Hills since 2011, and are involved in a variety of activities at our church. We also enjoy spending time with our family and friends.
As a graduate of a Christian university, I have a great appreciation for the importance of Christian education. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” I am a firm believer that the home, school, and church all work together in raising children to know and understand the truth of the scripture, and to be transformers of society. I believe that each child is created in the image of God and is blessed with unique gifts and talents, both spiritually and academically, and I will strive to help each student discover and develop these gifts. I feel blessed to be able to work with such amazing families and staff at OCS, and to create a support system that encourages our students in their personal relationships with Christ. Thank you for your constant prayer and support, as it is very much needed and appreciated!
