I then taught third grade for 5 years at Riverside Christian Day School. After taking some time off for family, I returned to teaching in 1997 at Ontario Christian School, teaching first grade. I earned my master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Cal Poly Pomona and also have my California teaching credential.

Personal Biography

I was born on Kauai in Hawaii where my parents were missionaries. I asked the Lord to be my Savior when I was ten years old. We moved to California when I was 14 where I have lived ever since. I am the mother of two grown children who both attended Ontario Christian Schools from kindergarten through twelfth grade. In my limited spare time, I enjoy going to the beach, socializing, reading, and watching Angels baseball. One of my passions is singing to praise and worship the Lord.

Professional Biography

After graduating from Calvin College in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and minors in Language Arts and Social Studies, I received a teaching credential from the state of Michigan. I am approved to teach gr I firmly believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is profitable for teaching, correction, and reproof as stated in II Timothy 3:16 and 17. Because of this presupposition, the Bible is the main and vital tool that we can use to evaluate the information and knowledge which we receive, the choices we make, and the circumstances that may come our way throughout our lives. Based on God’s truth, I strive to educate my students not only in the basics of academics but on the social, emotional and spiritual aspects of life, in order to best equip them to glorify and serve God throughout their lives and to encourage and nurture them to love God with all their hearts, souls and minds (Matthew 22:37-39). I believe we were all created in God’s image as Genesis 1:27 states. God is our creator and our heavenly Father and He cares for His children with love and discipline (Hebrews 12:6). Therefore, my goal for loving and disciplining my students is based on these beliefs. I will strive to treat my students with unconditional love, with firm and fair discipline, and with the respect that I would want to be treated, as God commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). Based on God’s truth as my personal beliefs, I strive to teach and guide my students to the best of my ability, with the strength of the Lord (Psalm 29:11), and the power of the Holy Spirit.
