Hello my name is Chris McMains. I attended Mt. San Antonio College and Chaffey College where I received my required Early Childhood Development units. In addition, I have aquired many certifications in the Early Childhood Development area through the years. I taught at Kiddie Korner Preschool in Chino for 7 years, after which God led me to Ontario Christian where I have been a teacher since 1996. My saying is, “my life is my kids…all my kids.” I love that on a daily basis God has given me the unique opportunity to show my kids how they can “shine their lights for Jesus” now and in their future through teaching the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26). Being able to witness their spiritual growth is amazing.
I have been married to my Bill since 1971 and we have 3 grown sons and 4 wonderful grandchildren. Our oldest son Jerrod works for Servpro and has a daughter. Our middle son Jason is a High School teacher and head Football Coach in the Jurupa district and has 2 children. Our youngest son Jake is an LAPD officer and has 1 son. I attend Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside where I lived for many years. I now live in Corona. I enjoy my time with my family and especially my grandchildren and daughter-in-laws. They are the source of my immense joy! I thank God for them and how he has blessed us as a family.
I came to know Jesus at a young age through the life of my mother. My mother was born and raised in Japan and came to America as a Buddhist knowing nothing about Jesus. Some of my dad’s family introduced my mother to Jesus. She wanted to know more and as the years passed she developed a strong relationship with the Lord. Her life was a model to us four girls of the character of a follower of Christ. When we came to California in 1961 we found a beautiful home church where we were all baptized. I was married there and baptized my children there. Our favorite song together is “What a friend we have in Jesus”. I thank Jesus for my mother and for her life. She is now in Heaven with Him! Because of her faith and example I have a great knowledge and amazing relationship with my loving Savior. This relationship is what has shaped me to be the Christian teacher I am today with my kids and how we teach in the classroom. We teach that our relationship with Jesus is the source of our peace and our salvation through Christ’s sacrifice. Our goal is to instill the Fruit of the Spirit in everything we do and say.
