In 2007 I graduated from Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa with an elementary education degree and teaching credential. I have since continued my education through University of San Diego and Providence Christian College. I began teaching 7th grade at Ontario Christian Middle School in the fall of 2007, and have taught Pre-Algebra, English, and History. I also am co-Athletic Director at the middle school level, and coach volleyball and softball.
I grew up in Redmond, Washington with my parents, older sister, and younger brother. I currently live in Ontario, California – only a few minutes from Ontario Christian’s campus. I attend Inland Hills Church in Chino Hills and am actively involved in a small group study. I enjoy spending time with my family, and with extended family that lives near me in Southern California. I like to play and watch many different sports including tennis, volleyball, lacrosse, and softball. I also enjoy cooking and baking (especially trying out new recipes when I have time), and hanging out with friends.
First and foremost, I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I feel very blessed that I have been able to work at a Christian school and share my faith as a teacher, coach, and adviser. I love teaching because I love spending time with kids and seeing them grow and change as they progress through middle school and beyond. I believe that class content is not necessarily the most important thing I will be teaching my students. Developing the students themselves is the ultimate goal. I am here to love my students, to be patient with them, and to help them grow in grace, knowledge of God, and knowledge of what He has created
