Professional Biography
Immediately after high school, I went into an apprentice program in the construction trade. This was followed by a program to become a Journeyman finish carpenter. In 1984 I took a position as superintendent for a construction company that specialized in kitchen and bath remodels, and room additions, where I was responsible for the oversight of all aspects of projects from start to finish. I also spent a number of years working as a fabricator for a company that built facades for amusement parks, shopping malls, and restaurants. You’ve likely seen some of my work, the Universal Studios globe in Orlando, Florida for example. These are some of the trade experiences that prepared me for working with our students in our woodshop.
